Successful Conduct of the 2025 IIEE-UAE 2nd Technical Seminar
The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers – UAE Chapter (IIEE-UAE) successfully held its 2nd Technical Seminar on April 27, 2025, at RAMADA by WYNDHAM, Al Barsha Heights, Dubai, UAE. The event brought together 51 participants from diverse engineering and technical backgrounds, fostering a dynamic environment of knowledge sharing and professional development. Attendees earned 7.0 CPD credit units, reinforcing the seminar’s dedication to lifelong learning and technical excellence.
Graciously hosted by Engr. Twain Eisen Gillana and Engr. Eduardo Bangate Jr., the seminar featured three in-depth technical sessions delivered by respected industry experts:
🔌 Event Industry Power System and Introduction to Sustainable Solutions
Speaker: Engr. Arnie De Guzman
This session explored the distinct power requirements of the event industry, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions. Topics included energy-efficient distribution, backup systems, and the integration of renewable technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact and improving system resilience.
🏠 Two-Storey Residential Building Electrical Design
Speaker: Engr. Jhordan Patnao
Attendees were guided through the essentials of designing electrical systems for two-storey residential buildings. The session covered load computations, circuit layouts, panel board sizing, and compliance with local electrical codes and Local Government Unit (LGU) regulations. Real-life design experiences and best practices from participants enriched the discussion.
⚙ Aluminum Electrolysis: Processes, Operations, and Best Practices
Speaker: Engr. Gideon C. Gucilatar
This comprehensive session delved into the aluminum electrolysis process, highlighting energy efficiency strategies, safety protocols, and innovations in electrolytic cell design and process control.
Adding further value to the event were inspirational messages from prominent community leaders. 2019 IEE Foreign Region Governor and IIEE-UAE founder Engr. Victorino Abejero underscored the vital role of Filipino engineers in Dubai’s growth and development. FILSOC President Mr. Ericson Reyes emphasized the importance of joining FILSOC—the only Filipino organization accredited by the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai. He also presented FILSOC’s history, milestones, and future plans, including the Filipino Club Holdings initiative.
Following the program, a group photo session with FILSOC President and IIEE-UAE members captured a moment of unity and excitement, as everyone joined in chanting:
“Mas pina-CHILL, mas pina-COOL, IIEE-UAE Tara na sa Kalayaan 2025 sa June 14!”
This cheer signified IIEE-UAE’s enthusiastic support for Kalayaan 2025, to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
A special segment honored the aspirants of PEE (Professional Electrical Engineer) Batch 18 and ACPE (ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer), recognizing their commitment to professional growth and engineering excellence.
The seminar also featured the signing of sponsorship agreements with key industry partners—Zurich International LTD, Hensel FZE, Kings Medical Center, and Aman Engineering—demonstrating their continued support for IIEE-UAE’s mission of driving innovation and advancing the engineering profession.
As IIEE-UAE continues to grow, it remains steadfast in its mission to empower engineers through impactful learning initiatives, strong industry collaborations, and meaningful community engagement.
