The MathIIEEnik QuizbEE, held on June 14, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Center, was one of the most anticipated academic segments of the Kalayaan 2025 celebration. Organized by the Filipino Social Club (FILSOC) and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers – UAE Chapter (IIEE-UAE), the event gathered student teams from five different schools across the UAE for a friendly yet competitive mathematics challenge.

The event began with each team proudly delivering their unique cheers, setting the tone for an energetic and spirited competition. The enthusiasm carried throughout the venue as the crowd responded with loud applause and excitement, fully engaged in supporting the teams. The competition proceeded with an elimination round, after which the top three teams advanced to the finals.

The finals proved to be intense and thrilling, as Far Eastern Private School – Halwan Branch Team A and The New Filipino Private School Team A both scored equally high, ending the round in a tie. A tie-breaker round was held to determine a sole champion, but even after several additional questions, neither team gave way, and the tie persisted. The crowd continued to cheer passionately for each team, celebrating every correct answer and dramatic moment with growing anticipation.

In the end, both teams were declared co-champions of the MathIIEEnik QuizbEE 2025, a fitting recognition of their exceptional knowledge and composure under pressure. The New Filipino Private School Team B also gave a strong performance, finishing as the 1st runner-up.

As one of the participants shared, “Absolutely wonderful experiences. Though we may not get the whole questions right, I think this is a wonderful opportunity for me and my teams to coordinate for these questionnaires in this quizbee.” This heartfelt reflection captured the spirit of the event—more than just a contest of numbers, it was a platform for learning, teamwork, and camaraderie.

The MathIIEEnik QuizbEE stood out as a shining highlight of the Kalayaan 2025 festivities, celebrating not only academic excellence but also the unity, determination, and pride of the Filipino youth in the UAE.
